REVEREND DAREN UMBLE, PASTOR
Reverend Darren Umble was installed as the Pastor of The Mount Zion Baptist Church of Holmesburg on September 25, 2021. Rev. Umble served as Interim Pastor from September 2018 until he was called as the Pastor elect. He was both licensed and ordained by Mount Zion where he served as an associate minister for six years under the leadership of the former Pastor Rev. Scott C. Dorsey. Prior to his calling to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he also served as a deacon at Mount Zion for 19 years.
Rev. Umble’s dedication to God’s Word and caring for the “least of these” (Matthew 25:40) inspired him to lead Mount Zion’s Evangelism Ministry in a multitude of endeavors including prayer walks, assisting the neighborhood food pantry, evangelizing throughout the community and working to equip the church family for outreach.
